Certification Pathways

The national Framework for the Certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers requires certifying authorities to have a pathways process to recognise prior assessment from credible programs where teachers have demonstrated they already meet part of all of the Teacher Standards at the Highly Accomplished or Lead career stages.

The Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) have developed a process, as required under the national framework, and will be piloting it in 2025.

Guidelines are available, outlining requirements for program providers wishing to seek endorsement of a program. Eligible providers are required to contact the QCT for an initial consultation prior to developing an application. Eligible providers include state education government agencies, tertiary organisations, teacher employers and educational professional associations.
