The Queensland Register of Teachers contains details of:

  • registered teachers
  • persons who hold permission to teach (PTT)
  • teachers whose registration or PTT has been suspended
  • former approved teachers whose registration or PTT has been cancelled for disciplinary reasons (this information is included only for the period that the person is excluded or prohibited from reapplying for registration or PTT).

Teachers are issued a Certificate of Queensland Teacher Registration or PTT. Certificates show any associated conditions imposed on the teacher’s approval. For persons who hold PTT, the certificate will also specify the school, subjects and year levels to which approval is limited.

Certificates are current at the time of their production. Searching the Register will show an up-to-the-minute status of a person’s approval to teach. Any employers concerned by certificate information differing from the Register should take a copy of the certificate and contact the QCT.

The register is not intended to be used for the purposes of any other child-related employment.

If you have any questions in relation to the registration status of a teacher please contact the QCT.
