Nicole Pritchard's dedication to equity and inclusion has left an indelible mark on Bellbird Park State Secondary College. As the Guidance Officer for Years 10-12, Nicole has worked tirelessly to support students at risk of disengagement, particularly those from refugee backgrounds or facing uncertainty about their futures. Her culturally responsive approach has opened doors to university, TAFE, and employment for students who once thought such opportunities were out of reach.
Nicole's leadership has been instrumental in increasing QTAC applications from 30 in 2022 to over 100 projected in 2025, reflecting her commitment to ensuring every student has a supported pathway beyond school. She has also introduced initiatives like the Home Visit Strategy, which targets students who have less than 50 per cent attendance and reconnects their families with the school through respectful, relationship-based engagement.
Beyond academic outcomes, Nicole has encouraged a sense of belonging through events like Culture Night and African Family Night, which celebrate diversity and strengthen community ties. Her work extends beyond the school gates, collaborating with external agencies to ensure students transitioning out of mainstream schooling are supported into meaningful pathways. Nicole's impact is felt across the entire school community, where her belief in every student's potential continues to inspire and empower.
