Nanine's impact on Coolum State High School centres on her role as the director of the AFL Academy.

Her leadership, particularly in growing the female side of the academy, has been transformative. Initially focused on the boys' teams, Nanine saw an opportunity to expand the academy's reach by establishing a girls' program. As head coach of the women's team, she not only nurtures their athletic skills but also mentors them in leadership and personal development.

Nanine's influence is also evident in her efforts to connect students with the Sunshine Coast's Zonta Club, where she has facilitated a fundraiser featuring an inspirational female speaker.

Her dedication extends to fostering connections with First Nations communities. She was crucial in organising the Inaugural Coolum High AFL Indigenous Round, which saw students engage with the remote Gawa Christian School in the Northern Territory. This event, including training drills and matches, is set to become an annual tradition, enriching students' understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Beyond her role in AFL, Nanine excels in integrating real-world experiences into the curriculum. She has built a partnership with "The Shack," addressing food insecurity through student-led food drives. Her Year 7 Humanities project connects students with community issues, and her ongoing water project aims to create sustainable environmental solutions for the school.
