The 'How to teach...' Modules

The 'How to teach ...' modules are five, research-based, online coaching modules that will enhance teacher effectiveness in the priority areas of: reading, writing, mathematics, science and assessment and differentiation. The modules have been developed by the Department of Education and Training, in conjunction with the Queensland College of Teachers and may also be used by teachers to gather evidence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

The modules are self-paced and combine online learning with offline practical application. Participants read information, access vignettes and websites and undertake tasks, recording their ongoing reflections in a journal. Teachers engaging with this professional learning resource are encouraged to seek the support of a principal-approved 'coach' but valuable learning may be achieved independently or through professional dialogue with colleagues.
